We hope you all survived this chilly week with a spatter of snow to remind us that winter is coming. But, with winter comes also the festive season. On Monday we enjoyed a lovely St Martin’s festival together. The children sang from the heart and we all warmed up with some hot tea and biscuits. It was good to see families coming together to connect as a community.
In music this week, the music teacher sung songs about musical instruments and taught the children about a variety of string and brass instruments. Some of which the children played themselves.
In MTV, the children enjoyed practicing their climbing skills, to climb over and under various objects.
In English the children learnt a new song “This Old Man” and explored counting and rhyming. Later in the week they read an Autumn book and participated in acorn crafting for our Autumn theme. Next week we will be starting our theme of Christmas to enjoy as much of the festive season as possible before the Christmas break.
We also spent plenty of time out in the fresh air this week despite the cold. The children enjoyed jumping in piles of leaves, finding grubs and bugs under logs and spotting mushrooms growing up through the ground litter.
