This week was a short week with Thursday a holiday and Friday a Team Day.
In Kindergarten this week we started a new theme ‘The Planets’. In morning circle, the children shared what they already know about our solar system, we watched a short film about the planets, learnt a song to name the planets in our solar system and a great planet dance.
On our forest day we used balls to represent the sun and planets placing them at the equivalent distance using paces. We discovered the Earth is relatively close to the sun compared to Pluto.
The children had the opportunity to make a solar system mobile – we will continue with this activity next week.
In pre-school, the children made a card game for our solar system and numbered the planets 1 to 9. They also began their school cones!
